Hello, friends of Gos d' Atura Català

Nice to meet you at our homepage!

We, that are my husband Rainer, our male Bouvier des Flandres „Aron“, our Bobtail „Daisy“, our Bouvier de Flandres „Curly“ and the male Gos d' Atura „Como un Amigo“ (called „Amigo“) and me, Patricia. Together we are called the "Heiderudel" (the heathland-pack).

From my youth on I loved four-legged animals, spending my time with horses and dogs. Therefore, I cared for dogs and took them for walkies. I also cared for horses and even did championships with them . Today I can say that due to my parents strictness (which I could not understand then) there was no possibility for me to have a dog fo my own.

But everything changed when I met my husband Rainer. He stumbled into my life together with his male Bobtail called “Henry“. That days a new chapter in our life started with lots of wonderful, but also sad moments. At that time “Henry” already was at an age of 7 ¾ years and he was a lovely and faithful dog with a typical Bobtail-like bullhead.

Only a little later we wanted a second dog and we hoped that „Henry“ would pass on lots of his positive characteristics to his little pal. So we decided to take a Bouvier des Flandres. In any case, it should be a herding dog, but not a Bobtail, because we thought that we would compare him to Henry too much. In July 2000 we bought our Aron. But everything was different. Today we think that we missed enough experience (we made several mistakes) and - on top - we chose the wrong dog-school, where the dogs had been treated for any mistake. That's why life with Aron was very difficult in the beginning. Sometimes we even thought about seperating from Aron ( so we became friends with „Bouvier in Not“). But at least we could not give him into other hands. When Henry was about 13 years old he died and we hope that we will meet him someday on the other side of the rainbow bridge. In any case, he passed on lots of qualities to other dogs in his long life as stud dog.

The life with Aron alone was't easier at all. Well, we found an excellent trainer (thank you Stefanie Meermann for all your tips!). And we started looking after a new pal for Aron. First we came in contact to an adult male Bobtail, but they struggled from the beginning, so we had to declare that that's the wrong way. Then we started looking for a smaller herding-dog and we took a male PON-puppy, called Ben-Noah.

In November 2001 Noah entered our home and enriched our life for a short time. Too short!! He died after a short and difficult illness with only 4 years and 10 months. We hope to see him on the other side of the rainbow bridge at any time, too.

In the meantime we booked seminars with Mr Prof. Ekard Lind, Mrs Doc. Gabriele Niepel and dog-whisperer Peter Grefe. Besides, we visited the dog school of Stefanie Meermann. Nowadays life with Aron is nearly regular! Well, we have to pay attention while walking with Aron, but this is nothing compared to a lucky heart of a dog who could stay at his home.

Because of all these experiences, in December 2003 we could adopt the 2 ¾ year old Bobtail Daisy and in August 2004 the only 8 month old Bouvier Curly. Both came from dogs in danger.

The gap Noah left in our pack was very big. That's why, in February 2007, we bought another fourth dog, although there had been lots of reasons against:

Como un Amigo, a male Gos d'atura. A wonderful dog. And we think that our next dog will be a Gos d'Atura, too. …

If you want to get more information about Amigo, the Gos d'Atura or about us, then you are kindly welcome to visit us or to get in contact to us!
